About Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen

Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen released in September 2004 worldwide for Game Boy Advance as remakes of the original Red and Blue. The Kanto Pokédex covers all 151 original Pokémon, Bulbasaur to Mew, plus the post-game Sevii Islands where a handful of Gen 2 species appear in the wild once the National Pokédex is unlocked. Wireless adapters bundled with the cartridges enabled cable-free trades for the first time. Can FireRed and LeafGreen connect to Ruby and Sapphire?

Yes. After unlocking the National Dex post-game, Pokémon can be traded between FRLG and the Hoenn games via link cable. FRLG can also transfer Pokémon to Pokémon Colosseum and Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness on GameCube.
